As a seller, how do you view the TikTok spin off bill
At present, sellers don’t have to worry too much.
One reason is that it is too early. This bill still needs to be voted on by the Senate and signed by the White House before it can become a formal law, and there will be various power struggles during this period, with unpredictable outcomes.
Secondly, regardless of whether TikTok belongs to the United States or China in the future, sellers can operate and sell goods normally. Especially for sellers who have local sources of goods and local companies, the only one that may be greatly affected is the full custody model.
The risk of store and account closures in the US market has always been high, and we have been vigilant. We have mainly made two preparations: first, we have taken two measures, and all types of stores have layouts. Secondly, we have restarted the independent station and relied on TikTok for diversion. Within three months, the daily revenue of the independent station increased from a few hundred dollars to over 6000 dollars.
In 2024, we will continue to be optimistic about TikTok. In addition to the developed sites, TikTok announced earlier this year that it will conduct internal testing of the “short video jump independent station” function in 8 countries including Japan, South Korea, Australia, Canada, Germany, France, Spain, Italy, etc. We are also keeping an eye on it and preparing to enter as soon as possible.
